The Jayhawks play Delmar Hall with guest singer-songwriter Mary Gauthier on their Sanctuary Park tour.
The Jayhawks play Delmar Hall on Saturday, November 14, with Mary Gauthier opening. They're touring their latest record, Sanctuary Park, which they recorded with producer Bob Ezrin and put out in late summer 2026. The current lineup — Gary Louris, Marc Perlman, Karen Grotberg, and Tim O'Reagan — has more than a dozen studio albums and three live records behind them, so there's plenty to pull from beyond the new material.
If you're not familiar with the name, the band came out of Minneapolis during the post-punk era of The Replacements, Hüsker Dü, and Soul Asylum. They've spent their career blending country, folk, soul, Britpop, and rock 'n' roll, and are often credited with helping start the Americana movement. Over the years they've played festivals from Farm Aid to Primavera Sound and have toured with or backed names like Ray Davies, Roger McGuinn, and Johnny Cash.
Opening for them is Mary Gauthier, a Louisiana singer-songwriter known for confessional songs like "I Drink," "Mercy Now," and "Drag Queens in Limousines." Those earned her a Grammy nomination for Rifles & Rosary Beads in 2018. She published Saved by a Song during the pandemic and released her new album, Reckoning, on September 25, 2026, so she'll be coming off a fresh release of her own.
