Parent-and-child nature exploration session for children aged 3 to 5, with hands-on activities, story time and a short walk, part of the Little Years series.
Little Nature Explorers: Now You See Me, Now You Don't is happening at the Shaw Nature Reserve on Tuesday, November 3, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. It's held at the Carriage House, which is part of the Missouri Botanical Garden. The session is built for kids aged 3 to 5 and their grown-ups, and it's part of a series called Little Years that runs across three St. Louis sites: the Missouri Botanical Garden, the Butterfly House, and the Shaw Nature Reserve.
Each month brings a different nature-based theme, and this one is titled Now You See Me, Now You Don't. The morning is a mix of hands-on activities, story time, and outdoor exploration, which includes a short walk if the weather holds up. The Little Years series has a double aim: sharing the wonders of nature and helping kids get ready for preschool and kindergarten. Along the way, they practice things like taking turns, listening to the teacher and their friends, sharing, and making choices.

Because it's a parent-and-child experience, you'll be right there with your little one for the whole thing. Registration is required, and the program runs as a per-child, per-class booking with one adult per child. If you're looking for a way to get your 3- to 5-year-old outside and interacting with other kids on a weekday morning, this is a good spot to start. It runs from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Shaw Nature Reserve Carriage House.
