A not-so-scary haunted house run by the St. Louis Public Library for children ages 3 to 8, with teen volunteers, haunted games and candy.
Buder Library is turning into a haunted house on Saturday, October 31, starting at 12:30 PM. The St. Louis Public Library calls it the Haunted Library, and they've built it specifically for the youngest visitors, with ages 3 to 8 in mind. If you've got little ones who like the idea of Halloween but aren't quite ready for the real scares, this is the kind of thing that fits.
Inside, the library is staffed by teen volunteers who act out spooky scenes, run haunted games and hand out candy. It's a not-so-scary setup, so it's more about the fun of the costumes and the atmosphere than anything that'll keep a kid up at night. Costumes are welcome, and since it's a library event, it's free to attend.

If you're planning to bring a group, it's worth knowing that the library takes accessibility requests by phone, so you can call ahead to make sure everything's set for your family. The whole thing kicks off at 12:30 PM on Halloween day at Buder Library, and admission is free.
