Weekly women's chess class open to all ages and skill levels, with open play, guided instruction and social time led by WGM Thalia Cervantes.
Ladies' Knight is back at the Saint Louis Chess Club on Thursday, October 29, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. It's a weekly women's chess class open to women of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced players, so you don't need to be a seasoned pro to walk through the door.
Each session mixes open play, guided instruction, group lessons, and social time. The goal is to help players sharpen their strategy and tactics, connect with the local chess community, and build confidence over the board. This particular session is led by WGM Thalia Cervantes, a Woman Grandmaster, so you're learning from someone who knows the game at a very high level.
The class is part of the club's wider weekly program, which ranges from beginners' nights and ladies-only sessions to master-level classes and rated games on weekends. The Saint Louis Chess Club itself is a community hub of some 30,000 square feet with more than 900 active members, and it's hosted over 100,000 tournaments. Beyond the weekly classes, the club runs initiatives like a Corporate Chess League, a First Responders Chess program, and a Grand Prix circuit for K-12 students.
