Josh Johnson's Comedy Band Camp

Josh Johnson brings his Comedy Band Camp to The Factory in St. Louis on Friday, October 31. It's a one-man show, so Johnson is the only name on the bill. The title gives you a good sense of what he's doing here: he's treating a night of stand-up like a band camp, with himself as the only one in the room. If you've seen him before, you know the kind of thing he does, and if you haven't, this is a good place to start.

As for what that actually means, it's a full set of stand-up. He's the sole feature of the night, so there are no openers to work through before he takes the stage. The whole evening is built around his performance, and the Comedy Band Camp framing is the hook he's running with for this run of shows. It's just him and a microphone, and the set is his to carry from start to finish.

It's a Friday night in St. Louis, and the show falls on Halloween, so it's an easy one to fit into a holiday weekend. Doors open at 6 PM, and the show starts at 7 PM, which gives you plenty of time to get in and settled before he comes out. If you're coming from across town, that hour between doors and the start is a nice buffer. The Factory is the spot, and the timing is straightforward: doors at 6 PM, show at 7 PM. If you're planning to make it, just keep that in mind.
