Interactive murder-mystery dinner theater in which guests enjoy a multi-course meal while solving the 'whodunit' with the Jest Murder Mystery Company.
Jest Murder Mystery Company is running Dead! Like Me. at the Lemp Mansion on Friday, October 30, one of several Friday and Saturday night shows they've had going since late August. It's a comedy-mystery dinner theater, which is a bit different from a standard play: you watch a fictional investigation unfold while you eat a multi-course meal, and you're expected to interact with the actors and piece together the clues to figure out who did it.
This particular show, Dead! Like Me., is an afterlife-inspired theme. It brings together a cast of the deceased at the annual meeting of The Brotherhood of Obituary Occupants (BOO), and P. T. Barnum is up to his usual tricks. The Jest Murder Mystery Company handles the staging, and they change their shows seasonally, so this is the one they're running through the end of October. If you've never done a murder mystery dinner before, that's the basic setup: you're part of the scene, not just watching from a seat.
The venue is the Lemp Mansion at 3322 DeMenil Place, a St. Louis landmark built in 1868 that now operates as a restaurant and inn. It's a place that leans into its history—they also run ghost hunting tours there and take private bookings for banquets and weddings, so a ghost-themed mystery fits the building pretty well.

Tickets are $72.95 per person, which includes gratuity, though tax is extra. The show starts at 7 PM, and since it's a dinner theater, the meal is part of the experience. The Dead! Like Me. run goes through Saturday, October 31, so this Friday night show is one of the last chances to catch it before the season wraps.
