Candy Giveaway and Costume Contest

The Division of Recreation, City of St. Louis is hosting a Candy Giveaway and Costume Contest on Saturday, October 31, 2026, starting at 1 PM. It's a community event right here in St. Louis, and the two things in the title are exactly what you'll find there: candy being handed out and a costume contest for anyone who wants to enter. If you've got kids, it's a straightforward way to get them some treats and let them show off whatever they're wearing this Halloween. If you're just coming for the candy, you can still stop by and see the costumes.

Since it's a costume contest, the dress-up part is a big piece of the day. You can put together something elaborate or keep it simple—either way, you'll be in good company with other people in the neighborhood doing the same. The candy giveaway runs alongside it, so there's plenty to do whether you're competing for a prize or just hanging out. It's the kind of afternoon that works well for families with kids of different ages, since the candy is for everyone and the costumes are the main thing to look at.

It's a community event, so it's open to anyone in the city who wants to drop in. The whole thing is put on by the Division of Recreation, City of St. Louis, which is the group organizing it. It's a simple setup: show up in costume, get some candy, and see who takes home a prize in the contest. It's a low-pressure way to spend a Saturday afternoon on Halloween, and it's all happening right here in the city. The Candy Giveaway and Costume Contest kicks off at 1 PM on Saturday, October 31, at the Division of Recreation, City of St. Louis.
