Emmy Award-winning storyteller Bobby Norfolk tells spooky tales, eerie poetry and Halloween songs in a two-hour show for ages 12 and up.
Bobby Norfolk brings his spooky stories to Power Creative this October, a night of storytelling that fits right into the season. Norfolk is a St. Louis native and a three-time Emmy Award winner who's spent about five decades telling stories, from the locally produced television show Gator Tales to storytelling festivals across the country. He performed with the Black Repertory Company founded by Ron Himes and worked as a ranger for the National Park Service, and he overcame a childhood stutter on his way to the stage.
He describes his goal as leading an audience into a hypnosis-like state, with the lighter material giving way to darker stories as the night progresses. The evening runs about two hours with an intermission, mixing in eerie poetry, spooky songs, and Halloween humor. It's presented by Power Creative in collaboration with Compton Heights Christian Church, and it's recommended for ages 12 and up.
