Platinum singer-songwriter Andrew McMahon joins the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra for a career-spanning celebration of his alternative pop, reimagining his songs on a symphonic scale.
Andrew McMahon plays Powell Hall on Saturday, February 20, 2027, at 7:30 PM, with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra backing him. It's a career-spanning show, so the set pulls from more than twenty years of his work rather than focusing on one record.
If you've followed him for a while, you know that spans a few different lives. He co-founded the pop-punk band Something Corporate in 1998, launched the solo project Jack's Mannequin in 2005, and has been recording as Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness since 2014. Across those three acts, he's sold nearly 2.5 million albums and picked up an Emmy nomination for his work on the NBC show Smash. This night reimagines those songs on a symphonic scale, drawing on fan favorites and stories from across that whole run.
There's a personal thread running through it, too. Diagnosed with leukemia at 22, McMahon founded the Dear Jack Foundation in 2006 to help adolescents and young adults with cancerβa story he chronicled in the documentary Dear Jack and his 2021 memoir Three Pianos. That same title showed up in July 2025, when he played a sold-out Three Pianos show at Red Rocks, where he became the first artist to perform as opening act, direct support, and headliner in a single night.
