TriFest Community Festival

TriFest is back at Riverside Park on Saturday 18 July, from 12pm to 7pm. It's a free community festival, run by a small group of volunteers under the umbrella of Friends of Riverside Park and in partnership with Benana Music Studio, and it's designed as an inclusive gathering for the local community.

There's a fair bit to do across the afternoon. Local musicians provide the music, and there are traders and stalls from community organisations to browse. You'll find games to play and artwork projects to get involved with, so it's as much about doing things as it is about watching. One of the more specific highlights is the dog show, run by Second Chance animal rescue, which usually draws a crowd of local dogs and their owners. If you're after a drink, the Beer Tent bar is run by the Butcher's Hook.

Because it's run by volunteers and held in one of the city's parks, it's a very local affair. The mix of music, stalls, games, and the dog show means it works for different kinds of afternoon — you can spend a few hours drifting between the stages and the stalls, or just pop in for a bit and head home. It's free to enter, so there's no ticket to book in advance.

TriFest runs from 12pm to 7pm at Riverside Park, Southampton, on Saturday 18 July. Entry is free.
