First UK and Ireland tour of the musical comedy Mrs Doubtfire at Mayflower Theatre, featuring Gabriel Vick from the original London company.
Mrs Doubtfire is coming to the Mayflower Theatre from 2 to 28 February 2027, as part of the musical's first major tour of the UK and Ireland. It's the West End comedy adaptation of the film, and the Southampton run is one of its first stops on the road.
The story is the one you'll remember: Daniel is an out-of-work actor who loses custody of his children in a messy divorce. To get back into their lives, he creates a new identity — the Scottish nanny Euphegenia Doubtfire — and ends up learning more about being a father than he ever expected. The stage show keeps the iconic moments from the movie but adds new songs and dance numbers to fill out the gaps. The critics have been kind to it: The Times called it 'genuinely funny', The Telegraph and Daily Express both called it a 'surefire hit', and The Times added that it 'soars from screen to stage'.
Gabriel Vick, from the original London company, is in the cast. The show runs for around 2 hours 30 minutes with an interval, and it's recommended for ages 6 and over. If you need a bit of extra support, there are assisted performances available, including captioning, BSL interpretation, audio description and a touch tour.
