A wickedly entertaining comedy thriller following TV medium Darius Divine, starring Rufus Hound and Susie Blake.
The Other Side of Murder is at Mayflower Theatre from 16 to 21 November, playing in Studio 1 of the Mayflower Studios. It's a new thriller from the producers behind Murder at Midnight and Murder in the Dark, and it's part of a tour across the UK and Ireland.
The story centres on Darius Divine, a TV medium who hosts a light-entertainment show called The Other Side. He's planning a cosy family dinner, but things go sideways when his pregnant lover and his Gilbert and Sullivan-obsessed mother-in-law show up. Throw in a night of ghostly visitations and explosive revelations, and the dinner burns while tensions rise. As the evening unfolds, the line between performance and reality shatters, with secrets surfacing and jealousies igniting.
Rufus Hound, known from One Man, Two Guvnors and The Wind in the Willows, stars alongside Susie Blake, a national treasure with credits including Victoria Wood and Coronation Street. The producers' previous work has been described as "darkly comic, stylish and with just the right amounts of farce, frights and drama" by Entertainment Now, and a "chilling masterpiece" by Varsity.
