The Choir Man, an Olivier Award-nominated musical featuring hits from Queen, Adele and Guns N' Roses, on its first UK tour.
The Choir Man comes to the Mayflower Theatre from Tuesday 3 to Saturday 7 November, its first ever UK tour. It's an Olivier Award-nominated musical that's played on Broadway and in the West End, and this is the first time it's headed out on the road.
The show is built around a broad mix of hits. You'll hear Queen, Adele, and Guns N' Roses, but it goes further than that: Luther Vandross, Paul Simon, and Katy Perry are all in the set. It's a wide reach, pulling from rock, soul, pop and singer-songwriter territory, and the whole thing is billed as the crowning glory of its runs on Broadway and in the West End.
If you've never come across it, the Olivier nomination gives you a sense of where it sits. It's a worldwide smash that's spent time on some of the biggest stages in the US and the UK, and this Southampton run is part of its first tour of the country. It's a musical that leans on familiar songs rather than a new score, so the set is made up of the hits you already know from those names.
