The Hundred cricket match between Southern Brave and Welsh Fire at the Utilita Bowl, featuring both men's and women's teams.
Southern Brave take on Welsh Fire at the Utilita Bowl on Wednesday 22 July, a double-header that puts both the women's and men's games on the same bill. It's part of The Hundred, the 100-ball cricket competition that launched in the UK in 2021, and for the Brave, it's a home game right here in Southampton.
There's a bit of a new start to this season. The franchise has entered a new era under the GMR Sports family, and you'll spot the change on the pitch: they've rebranded with a new 'Fierce Red' and 'Reliable Blue' kit supplied by Castore. It's a fresh look for a side that knows its way around a final. The men won the inaugural title back in 2021, and the women's team lifted the trophy in 2023 before coming close again as runners-up in 2025.
The squads for the day bring together some big names from both sides of the game. Jofra Archer, Jamie Smith, Marcus Stoinis, and Tristan Stubbs are in the men's mix, while Lauren Bell, Maia Bouchier, Laura Wolvaardt, and Jemimah Rodrigues feature for the women. The format is The Hundred's signature 100-ball game, so it's faster than the traditional versions and built for a crowd.

If you're planning to make a day of it, the timing works well for a full afternoon and evening. The women's match starts at 3:00 PM, followed by the men's at 6:30 PM. And if you want to stretch it out, the Utilita Bowl has a few extras on the go: pitch-facing rooms at the Hilton Southampton - Utilita Bowl and hospitality at BEEFY'S by Lord Botham. This is one of the group stage games played across the south coast, before the Eliminators and Finals move to Nottingham, which this year includes a reserve day for the first time.
