Southampton Ghost Tours 2026

Southampton Ghost Tours are back on the streets this autumn, with three dates to choose from: Wednesday 20 August, Wednesday 30 September, and Friday 27 November. Each one starts outside Tudor House in St Michael's Square, Bugle Street, SO14 2SD. The August and September tours run from 20:30 to 21:30, and the November one is 20:00 to 21:30.

It's a guided walk through the old part of town, and it does more than just tell stories. The route follows the ghosts through the historic streets, stopping at spots like Tudor House, Westgate and The Red Lion. Along the way, you'll hear tales of torture, execution and disease, and come face-to-face with some of the city's most notorious spirits, including Sir John Dawtrey and the King's Guard. There are also accounts of the French raids that left devastation and death in their wake.

One of the things that sets this apart is the access. You get a rare chance to step inside the city's ancient, atmospheric vaults, which are usually closed to the public because of their historic nature. The storytelling is paired with dramatic theatrical elements, and the show runs in all weathers with live actors and scares. It's won three semi-final awards and two bronze final awards for Best Event and 'Here to there tour' at the Southampton Star Awards, and it holds a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.
