A craft workshop led by artist Emma Morrissey to learn scrapbooking techniques and develop your own style, suitable for newcomers and experienced crafters.
Emma Morrissey is leading a scrapbooking workshop at Southampton City Art Gallery on Saturday 12 September, from 2pm to 5pm. It's a three-hour session run by Southampton Cultural Services, and it's pitched at everyone from the newcomer to the avid crafter, so you don't need to be an expert to get involved.
Morrissey is an experienced artist and tutor, and she'll be walking you through page spreads, layouts and theme building. There will be stacks of materials and resources on hand to help you pick up the techniques and develop a style of your own, rather than just following a set of instructions. It's a hands-on afternoon, and you're encouraged to bring along your own photos and embellishments to work with.
This is the second part of a two-session series, following a basics session on 5 September that set out what materials you need and how to get started. If you book both sessions, you get a 10 per cent discount. The workshop is suitable for adults and young people over 16, so it's one you can do with a teenager in tow.
