Cancer Bats play The Joiners on Saturday 17 October, headlining the Made of Loud Tour with Knives and Ignite on support. It's an early matinee show, with doors opening at 4:30 PM and live music running through to 10:00 PM.
The Toronto band emerged in 2006 with Birthing the Giant and caught fire in the early 2010s, when they earned Juno Award nominations for Bears, Mayors, Scraps & Bones in 2011 and Dead Set on Living in 2013. Fronted by Liam Cormier, they blend sludge metal, Southern rock grooves and ferocious punk rock intensity, and they're known for some of the most relentless live performances on the global circuit. They cite Black Flag, Down, Led Zeppelin, Entombed and Black Sabbath as influences, and have toured Canada as a Sabbath cover band under the name Bat Sabbath.

This date is part of the Made of Loud Tour, a Marshall Records initiative that combines touring, venue investment and community support to champion independent venues and local scenes. The 16-date UK run launches alongside the band's new album, Give Me Dirt, and the tenth anniversary of Marshall Records. The Joiners is about a 15-minute walk or a five-minute taxi from Southampton Central station. Advance tickets were £20, and the show is now completely sold out.
