Action-packed day on the water with sailing, paddleboarding, kayaking and team challenges at SWAC, suitable for all ages with no experience required.
Southampton Water Activities Centre is running its Multi Activity Week on the Water throughout August 2026, with the sessions based right in the heart of the city. It's aimed at young adventurers, school holiday fun, and anyone keen to try something new, and the whole thing is delivered by experienced instructors in a safe, supportive environment.
The days combine a variety of watersports and team challenges on Southampton Water, so you're not just sticking to one thing. Sailing, paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing and raft building are all on the table, and you don't need any previous experience to get involved. The focus is as much on the social side as the sport: you'll build confidence, teamwork, communication skills and resilience through hands-on outdoor activity.
SWAC itself is a leading watersports and training hub in the city, operated by Chieftain Training and fully recognised as an RYA training centre. It specialises in teaching people how to sail, with professional instruction across many marine disciplines—from first-time experiences on the water to advanced training and professional qualifications. Alongside that, they run courses in powerboating, keelboating, motor cruising, personal watercraft and windsurfing, and they work closely with schools, colleges and community groups.
