Family festival with live music, workshops, circus, juggling and entertainment for all ages, including a makers market and food stalls.
Hive Family Festival arrives at Fairthorne Manor on Saturday 8 August, the first time the event has come to Southampton. It's an outdoor family festival put on by Sound Pop Academy, a performing arts company based right here in the city, and it runs from 12:00 to 21:00.
The music is split across two stages. The main one, the Beehive, has a broad bill: Abba Fever, the UK's top ABBA tribute; Got To Be POP, a run through the 90s and 00s; Josh Blake, a former The Voice Kids finalist; Nikki Bentley, a West End veteran; Southampton's own Love Soul Choir; DJ Stop+Start; and BEX, the winner of the Emerging Talent competition. The second stage, the Honeypot, is for local talent, classes, talks and conversations.
Beyond the stages, there's plenty to keep you moving. Juggling and jugglers, children's entertainers, character meet-and-greets, bubbles, family yoga, circle workshops, arts and crafts, and dance and performing arts. There are also roaming acts throughout the day, an interactive family zone, dozens of food and drink stalls, and a makers market with local, handmade Hampshire products. It's built for all ages, from small kids to teenagers and parents.
