Grease The Musical returns to the Mayflower Theatre from 13 to 17 July 2027, with Debbie McGee taking the role of Miss Lynch, the no-nonsense teacher at Rydell High. It's a short run, five days in total, so you'll want to pick your night early if you're planning to go.
Most of us know McGee as the assistant and widow of magician Paul Daniels, and as a Strictly Come Dancing finalist. She's a member of The Magic Circle, now its Honorary Vice President, and hosted her own show on BBC Radio Berkshire for twelve years. On Strictly, she was the oldest celebrity finalist in the 2017 series and the first to score 40, and she went on to win the 2019 Christmas Special. 2026 marked her fiftieth year in showbusiness and the release of her autobiography, A Magical Life.
Her background in dance runs deep, too. Trained at the Royal Ballet School, she danced with The Second Generation and shared stages with ABBA and Chris de Burgh, and she appeared as a dancer in The Paul Daniels Summer Show back in 1979. That's a lot of stage time to bring to the role of Miss Lynch.
