A family-friendly summer street festival in Southampton featuring local market stalls, street food, and entertainment.
Bedford Place and Carlton Place turn into a summer street party on Sunday 28 June for the Bedford Place Summer Festival, a one-day event that closes the roads to traffic and opens them up to the public. It's organised by the businesses on Carlton Place, with GO! Southampton on board as sponsor, and the whole thing is built around bringing local companies together for a day of street-level entertainment.
What you'll find along the stretch is a mix of local market stalls, Southampton street food, and a varied programme of entertainment running throughout the day. It's a family-friendly affair, so it's as much for taking the kids along as it is for meeting friends for lunch. GO! Southampton will have a visitor information stall set up on the day, too, if you're looking for other things to do around the city.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Southampton and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

It's a single-day event, so you've only got the one window to catch it. The official timings are 11:00 to 20:00, which gives you plenty of room to wander in and out as you please rather than committing the whole day. The festival takes over Bedford Place and Carlton Place in Southampton, SO15 2DX, and since it's a street party, it's free to attend. If you're around on the 28th, it's a good excuse to spend a Sunday afternoon in the city centre.
