Celia Imrie shares her travel adventures in conversation with Fidelis Morgan, launching her memoir The Elegant Hustler.
Celia Imrie is coming to the Southampton City Art Gallery on Sunday 11 October, where she'll be in conversation with actor Fidelis Morgan. It's an afternoon talk, running from 2pm to 3pm in the gallery's Lecture Theatre on Commercial Road.
For Imrie, travel is more than just a hobby; she describes it as a way of life and says she's never happier than when she's on the move. During the talk, she'll be looking back at some of the most memorable adventures of her life, and the range is pretty wide. She talks about riding ocean waves and iconic railways around the world: tours across Australia with Glenda Jackson, Arctic quests in search of the Northern lights, chaotic cross-country journeys through Europe, rolling through America's sweeping plains on Amtrak, glamorous voyages on the Queen Mary 2, and unforgettable trips on India's legendary trains.
Her travel companion for the afternoon is Fidelis Morgan, and Imrie says his company keeps the drama following them wherever they go. The talk is staged by Southampton Cultural Services and runs for about an hour, which includes time for questions from the audience. It forms part of the launch of Imrie's memoir, The Elegant Hustler, which comes out on 8 October 2026.
