Shoepunk noise band Weave play Sidney & Matilda, presented by Scruff of the Neck, with support from Retrograth and Goth King Resurrection.
Weave play Sidney & Matilda on Friday 6 November, with the night presented by Scruff of the Neck. It's a Sheffield date on the band's debut UK headline tour, which also takes them to Manchester, Luton and London.
They're a Sheffield band themselves, and they describe their sound as "shoepunk garbage noise" — a label that covers a fair bit of ground. From their own description, the music spans alternative, indie, post-punk, shoegaze and grunge, so there's a good deal of noise and distortion to work through. It's the kind of set that pulls from a few different corners of guitar music rather than sticking to one lane.
They won't be the only ones on the bill. Support comes from Retrograth and Goth King Resurrection, so there are three acts to get through across the evening. The whole thing is hosted in the Gallery at Sidney & Matilda, over on Sidney Street in the city centre.
