Vernon Kay brings his tour of 90s dance hits to the O2 Academy Sheffield.
Vernon Kay brings BBC Radio 2's Dance Sounds of the 90's to O2 Academy Sheffield on Friday 22 October 2027. It's a night built around the dance music of the nineties, with Kay behind the decks.
He describes the record box he's touring with as a 'time machine', and the whole set is pitched as a trip back to the hedonistic nineties — the era of house phones, Sega Megadrives, Sony Discmans and raves in fields. If those things ring a bell, you've got a good idea of the ground he's covering. It's less about a single album and more about the sound of that decade, so expect a mix of the dance tracks that defined the era.
The Sheffield show is one stop on a six-date tour that also calls at Edinburgh, Bristol, Oxford, Manchester, Bournemouth and Birmingham. It's a fairly tight run, so this is the only time it'll be in the city. Kay is the sole name on the bill, taking the lead on the music and the hosting.
