A new staging of Shakespeare's comedy Twelfth Night, featuring Mathew Horne as Malvolio, directed by Jamie Glover at the Crucible.
Twelfth Night is running at the Crucible from Saturday 10 to Saturday 31 October, a new staging of Shakespeare's comedy that forms part of a double bill alongside King Lear. It's the lighter half of the two, built around mistaken identities, mischievous tricks and unexpected romances.
Mathew Horne takes the role of Malvolio, the pompous steward who becomes the target of the play's pranks. You'll likely know him from Gavin & Stacey and The Tempest. Around him is a full ensemble: Fode Simbo as Orsino, Justina Kehinde as Olivia, Bebe Sanders as Viola, Harry Redding as Sebastian, David Birrell as Feste, and Katie Wimpenny as Maria. Jamie Glover directs, and the production is rounded out by Amanda Stoodley on set and costume, Richard Howell on lighting, and Genevieve Dawson on composition and musical direction.

Because it's paired with King Lear, you've got a choice of how to take it: catch the comedy on its own, or pair it with the tragedy for a full run of the two. The play itself runs about 2 hours and 35 minutes, which includes an interval. Just a heads-up on the technical side: there's smoke, haze and flashing lights throughout, so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to either.
