Ginger Johnson (Show Pony!)

Ginger Johnson is coming to Foundry on Friday 20 November, bringing her new live show Show Pony! to Sheffield. It's a stand-up comedy and drag night, and if you've followed her over the last few years, you'll know exactly where she's coming from.

Johnson first made a name for herself as the winner of RuPaul's Drag Race UK series five, and since then she's built a career that doesn't quite fit into one box. She's a cabaret artist and theatre maker who describes herself as the nation's silliest sausage, and she's just as likely to be found in a drag wig as she is in a kitchen. That second part became a whole thing when she won Celebrity MasterChef, where she cooked in full drag on the BBC One series. She's performed across the globe for theatre-goers, festival crowds and Pride revellers alike, so this is a proper touring show rather than a one-off cabaret spot.

Show Pony! is her new live spectacular, following the 2024 tour Ginger Johnson Blows Off!. She describes it as high camp, low morals and whip-smart comedy — a psychedelic, comedy-packed night soundtracked by original songs. The reviews have been strong: The Guardian called it "brilliant, bizarre and completely unmissable", The Theatre Weekly went with "hilarious" and The Reviews Hub called it "comedy gold".

The show starts at 8:00pm at Foundry, which is part of the Sheffield Students' Union on Western Bank (S10 2TG). Tickets are £31.40, which includes the booking fee. If you want a bit more, there's a 6pm Meet & Greet available for £56.00, also including the booking fee.
