Agatha Christie's classic murder mystery on its 75th Anniversary Tour, with cast including Nicholas Bailey and Susan Penhaligon.
The Mousetrap comes to the Lyceum from Tuesday 3 November to Saturday 7 November, as part of its 75th Anniversary Tour across the UK and Ireland. It's Agatha Christie's most famous murder mystery, and it's been running since 1952, making it the world's longest-running play. The Sheffield run is currently sold out and available to members.
The story is set at Monkswell Manor, a remote guesthouse where a shocking murder brings seven strangers together. When a police sergeant battles through a deadly snowstorm to warn them, it becomes clear the threat is already inside their walls. It's a classic whodunnit, and the twist ending is the thing it's most known for — the play is billed as the best-kept secret in theatre history, and the whole point is to go in without knowing the reveal.
Nicholas Bailey and Susan Penhaligon are among the cast for this tour. The production is part of the 75th anniversary celebrations, and the Sheffield run includes accessible performances with audio description, captioning and sign language interpretation.
