The Mouse Outfit play Sidney & Matilda on Thursday 22 October, with the night presented by Scruff of the Neck. They're a hip-hop production team and live band, and the set is their jazz-flavoured hip-hop with global influences — boom bap, funk and soul at its core. The project centres on producer and DJ Chini, with Pitch 92 as one of the key members.
They're known for working with a huge range of collaborators, more than 85 artists in total, including IAMDDB, Dr Syntax and Sparkz. Their 2016 remix project took in tracks from Mungo's Hi Fi and Tall Black Guy and brought in IAMDDB on the rhymes. They've built their reputation on DIY, independent releases and high-energy festival shows, so the live band format is where the sound really opens up.

The gig is in the Gallery at Sidney & Matilda, Rivelin Works, rear of 46 Sidney Street in the city centre, S1 4RH. It runs from 7:30pm to 10:30pm, and tickets are £18 in advance.
