Puppet and live-action children's play by Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company about a gingerbread man who escapes the oven, for audiences aged 3 and above.
The Gingerbread Man is coming to the Tanya Moiseiwitsch Playhouse from Monday 26 to Wednesday 28 October, brought to Sheffield by Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company. It's a theatrical retelling of the old story: a deliciously smelling Gingerbread Man is born in an oven and sets off on the journey of a lifetime, using his wits to outrun anyone who thinks he looks tasty. The company brings him to life with puppetry, live action, music and humour, so it's as much about the performance as it is the story.
It's part of Sheffield Theatres' family season of children's theatre, which brings fairy tales, picture books and festive favourites to the stage throughout the autumn. The show runs for around an hour with no interval, and it's recommended for audiences aged 3 and above, so it's a good fit for the younger end of the family crowd.

There are three performances over the three days, with different times to suit different schedules: 4:30pm on Monday, 1:30pm on Tuesday and 10:30am on Wednesday. If you're taking little ones, the morning slot on Wednesday might be the easiest to work around, while the Monday afternoon one fits better if you're coming straight from school or work. The show is at the Tanya Moiseiwitsch Playhouse, part of Sheffield Theatres.
