Touring stage adaptation of the 1997 film, a fast and funny 'classic British strip-com' set in Sheffield.
The Full Monty is coming to the Lyceum from 15 to 30 January 2027, a two-and-a-half-week run in the heart of Sheffield. It's Simon Beaufoy's stage adaptation of the 1997 film that took British cinema by storm, and it's set right here in the city, inspired by the spirit of the Steel City. The story follows a group of lads, led by Gaz, who've fallen on hard times and decide to fight back by stripping — billed as a 'classic British strip-com'.
It's described as a fast and funny rollercoaster of ups and downs, laughs and heartbreak, with a soundtrack of 90s music. The production is still very much of its time, too, as the cost-of-living crisis bites. The Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham and Buxton Opera House are staging it in association with Mark Goucher and David Pugh, and it's touring the UK, with this Sheffield stop being one of the dates. The critics have been on board: The Telegraph called it 'bursting with wit and deeply touching', and British Theatre described it as 'a story of our times'.

On the practical side, it's a 14+ show, so it's not one for the very young. It runs for around 2 hours and 15 minutes, including an interval, and tickets range from £15 to £59. The Lyceum is at 55 Norfolk Street, S1 1DA, so it's easy enough to get to from the city centre. With the run going from 15 to 30 January, you've got plenty of dates to choose from if you're fancying a night out in the theatre early next year.
