The Family Battenberg (The Super Deluxe Tour)

The Family Battenberg play the Hallamshire Hotel on Thursday 10 December, as part of their Super Deluxe Tour. They're a self-produced four-piece from Cardiff, South Wales, and this is a Sheffield date presented by Futuresound Events.

They call their sound 'spider rock', and it's a loud, fuzzy mix of 1970s-flavoured garage-punk and glam rock. The lyrics wander into strange territory — ghosts, aliens, cryptids and bed bugs — so it's not exactly the kind of thing you'll hear on the radio. The line-up is Eliot Jones on lead vocals and guitar, Ethan James Duck on guitar, Celyn on bass and Billy on drums.

Beyond the local circuit in Wales, they've played showcase events like SXSW, The Great Escape, Reeperbahn, ESNS and FOCUS Wales, so they're used to playing for new crowds. The Sheffield show is part of the Super Deluxe Tour, and they'll be playing the Hallamshire Hotel on West Street.

Tickets are £12.10 for general admission standing, with the face value around £11.00. The show starts at 19:30, and the venue is the Hallamshire Hotel, 182 West St, Sheffield, S1 4ET.
