Tek Tonik 14 - feat Eat Static / Isis Moray / Andy Faze

Tek Tonik 14 comes to Sidney and Matilda on Friday 11 December, with Eat Static leading the bill alongside Isis Moray and Andy Faze. It's the fourteenth edition of the night, which sits within a lineage of transformational, inclusive parties that evolved from trance through techno to breaks.

Eat Static is the electronic music project of Merv Pepler, formed in 1990. He and Joie Hinton first met as drummer and keyboardist in the psychedelic space-rock band Ozric Tentacles, from Somerset, and both were drawn towards rave-oriented dance music. Hinton left the group in February 2008 after eighteen years to spend more time with his family, leaving Pepler to carry the project forward. That background in space-rock still informs the sound, and the night's place in the trance-techno-breaks lineage fits right in with it.

Isis Moray and Andy Faze round out the bill, so you've three acts to get you through the night. Doors open at 7:30pm, and the music starts at 8:00pm, giving you plenty of time to get in and settled before things properly kick off. Tickets start from £11.
