Talk the Sheffield lead poisoning scandal

Showroom Cinema is hosting a talk on the Sheffield lead poisoning scandal on Tuesday 1 December, starting at 19:30. It's a single-subject evening, so the whole session is focused on one story rather than a broad survey.

For those who aren't up to speed, the scandal is a piece of local history that hits close to home. It's about lead poisoning in Sheffield, and the talk is designed to walk through the details of what happened. If you've heard the name in passing but never really sat down with the facts, this is a good place to get them sorted in one go.

Showroom Cinema is on Paternoster Row in the city centre, and it works as a cultural hub for the city. They regularly program talks, business presentations and screenings, and they've built up a following of audiences interested in local history and expert discourse. The room is suited to intimate gatherings focused on a single subject, which fits the format of a talk like this—one topic, one room, and a chance to hear it laid out properly.

It's a Tuesday night, so it's an easy one to fit in during the week. The talk starts at 19:30, and tickets are £6.13.
