Community clothing, book and plant swap evening at Dusk Tattoo Collective, with donations dropped off during the day and items swapped at night.
Dusk Tattoo Collective are running a community swap shop at their studio in Neepsend on Wednesday 18 November, and the whole thing is built around a simple trade: you bring in clean, unwanted quality clothes, shoes, books, accessories or plants, and you take home as much as you like. It's a proper exchange, so the more you bring, the more you've got to pick from when the swapping starts.
The day is split into two halves. From 11am until 6:30pm, the studio is open for drop-offs, so you can swing by whenever suits you during the day to leave your things. The swap itself happens in the evening, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, when everyone gathers to go through what's been brought in and trade. If you're coming from across the city, you can drop your bags off early and then head back in the evening to see what's turned up.
It's not just about the clothes, either. Books, accessories and plants are all on the list, so it's a good chance to clear out a few different cupboards at once. And anything left over at the end of the night doesn't go to waste — whatever's unclaimed is donated to Barnsley Hospice.
