Annual free woodland pumpkin trail at Storrs where visitors bring a carved or decorated pumpkin to add to the display, with storytellers and a children's spotter hunt.
The Storrs Woodland Jack O'Lantern Spectacular is back at The Wood Shed on Storrs Lane in Stannington, running across two days: Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November. It's an annual woodland pumpkin trail, and the whole thing is built around visitors bringing along a carved or decorated pumpkin to add to the display. So, rather than just walking through and looking, you're actually part of it — the more pumpkins people bring, the bigger the trail grows.
Beyond the pumpkins, there are storytellers on site and a children's spotter hunt to work your way through, so it's a good one if you've got kids with you. The trail itself winds through the woodland around the shed, and the pumpkins are set out along the way, lit up as it gets dark. It's a simple, community-led sort of afternoon: carve something at home, bring it up to Stannington, and see it join the rest.
On the artistic side, this year's event features Stoneface by Andrew Vickers Art. It's a woodland pumpkin trail at its heart, but with that added in the mix.
