Stand-up show by Danish comedian Sofie Hagen, winner of the Edinburgh Festival Best Newcomer award in 2015, at The Steamworks.
Sofie Hagen brings her show I Think Some of This Is My Fault to The Steamworks on Thursday 11 March, with the performance running from 7:30pm to 11pm. It's a full evening of stand-up, and the venue splits it into two halves: the first runs 65 to 75 minutes, followed by an interval, then a second half of 30 to 40 minutes.
The material comes from two places Hagen knows well. One is her years of being constantly online, the other her feminist activism. The two overlap more than you might think, and the show draws on both. The Independent described her as 'eye-catchingly odd and disarmingly honest', which gives you a fair idea of the tone she goes for.
There's a bit of a story behind her as well. Hagen is a Danish comedian who learned English at the age of four, specifically so she could move to the UK and take to the stage. It worked: she won Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Festival in 2015 and has since worked in television. This show is her back on the live circuit, bringing that same blend of the personal and the political to a Sheffield room.
