Over-18s tasting of six single malts from Scotland led by Islay distiller David Wood, who worked at Caol Ila, Bunnahabhain and Lagavulin.
Riverside Kelham is hosting a single malt whisky tasting on Saturday 24 October, run by Islay distiller David Wood. It's a two-hour session from 3pm to 5pm, so it's a late-afternoon thing rather than a night out.
The tasting itself covers six single malts from across Scotland, with Wood leading the way. He's spent years working at distilleries on the Hebridean island of Islay, including Bunnahabhain and Lagavulin, and more recently served as Distillery Manager at Caol Ila. Along with the tasting, he'll talk through the history of whisky production and how it travels from field to table, so it's as much about the story as the drinks.
It fits right into the food and drink scene Sheffield has been building around lately—the city frames it as a reflection of its industrial heritage and creative spirit, blending traditional pubs with innovative eateries, craft beer from local breweries, pop-up kitchens and immersive tasting experiences, alongside supper clubs, cocktail masterclasses and street food markets. This sits on the immersive side of that mix.
