Christmas carol concert by the Sheffield choir Steel City Choristers, with reflections and readings, in support of Shelter.
Steel City Choristers are performing a Christmas carol concert at Highfield Trinity Methodist Church on Tuesday 15 December. It's presented by Shelter, and the evening mixes choral singing with reflections and readings from special guests, and a chance for the audience to sing along to the classic carols. It wraps up with drinks and a mince pie.
The Steel City Choristers are a Sheffield-based choir known for their musical excellence, their rich choral tradition and for bringing sacred music into everyday spaces. That's the core of the night: the choir's choral performances alternating with the guests' reflections and readings, with the sing-along carols woven in. It's a mix of listening and joining in, rather than just sitting through a set.
The concert is in support of Shelter, whose work sustains people experiencing homelessness or housing hardship, and a donation is also made to the choir. So the ticket goes to both the charity and the choir.
