Drag-O-Ween benefit night with three bands, drag performances hosted by Beanie Bounce, a letter-writing workshop and a craft stall, with all proceeds to The Sameer Project.
Drag-O-Ween For Palestine comes to Alder on Thursday 29 October, the first Sheffield event from Young Musicians For Palestine. It's a fundraiser, and every penny raised goes to The Sameer Project, a mutual aid initiative in Gaza run by Palestinians in the diaspora. The organisers say the project has recently opened its own desalination plant and is restarting its food distribution operations, so the money goes straight to that work.
The night is built around a drag show hosted by Beanie Bounce, with three bands playing alongside the performances. There's more to it than just the stage, too: a workshop where you can write letters of support to imprisoned activists, and a handmade craft stall to browse between sets. It's a full evening rather than just a single show, with the music, the drag, the writing, and the stalls all running under one roof.
