Screening of the 1997 comedy 'Good Burger' by Sharrow Young Leaders, closing the 'Black History Month: We Are the Storytellers' youth film and arts programme.
Good Burger is screening at the Showroom Cinema on Thursday 5 November, presented by the Sharrow Young Leaders. It's the closing night of Black History Month: We Are the Storytellers, a youth-led film and arts programme put together with five youth groups from across Sheffield to celebrate and showcase the city's emerging Black creative talent.
The film itself is the 1997 light comedy about Dexter and Ed, two goofy high-school friends who take summer jobs at a local burger joint and have to work together to save it from being taken over by a huge fast-food chain. It stars Kel Mitchell and Kenan Thompson, with Sinbad and Abe Vigoda. The night is billed as a celebration of young Black creativity, community and the power of young people in Sheffield, and the organisers are inviting people to turn up dressed as their favourite snacks and to bring family and friends along. It's rated PG, so it's one you can bring the kids to.

It's a low-key way to wrap up the season, and since it's the closing night of a programme built around Sheffield's own young creatives, it's as much about the community behind it as the film on screen. The screening starts at 17:00, and all tickets are £5.
