Shama Melody Live - Alaba A'Lab'a Nite

Shama Melody is playing Elios Lounge & Bar on Friday 23 October, as part of Alaba A'Lab'a Nite. It's a Sheffield date for the Nigerian entertainer, who works across both music and comedy rather than sticking to one or the other. If you've come across his name before, it's likely from tracks like Motor Mixture, Akpola Gi and Bongo Obioma — those are the songs he's best known for, and they're the kind of things he brings to the stage.

That mix of music and comedy is exactly what he does: he blends the two throughout the set, so it's not a concert one minute and a stand-up act the next, but the two running together. He's a Nigerian entertainer, and that's where his sound comes from, and this Sheffield date is one of the stops on his current run. If you've heard Motor Mixture or Akpola Gi on record, this is one of the chances to hear them live.

Elios Lounge & Bar is at 732 Attercliffe Rd, Attercliffe, Sheffield S9 3RQ. The night starts at 19:00, and tickets go from £15.00 up to £420, depending on what you're after. Shama Melody is the main feature of the evening, and he'll be performing his music and comedy live on stage.
