Album launch gig for Seb Stone's 'The Blackbird', traditional English and Irish music, with Rowan Piggott, Joe Vercoe and others.
Seb Stone is launching his new album, The Blackbird, at Alder in Neepsend on Saturday 17 October. It's his second record of traditional English and Irish music, and the night is built around it.
Stone is a traditional singer, whistle player and uilleann piper from the Peak District. He won the Future of Folk Award at Bromyard Folk Festival in 2022 and has spent the years since working his way across the UK festival scene and the folk club circuit. He's also a regular part of Sheffield's own folk and trad scenes, and you'll usually find him playing or singing at one of the city's many sessions.
He's not taking the stage alone. Joining him for the launch are Rowan Piggott, Joe Vercoe, Ask Eide, Alina Ehret, Will Sartin and Sean Spicer. With that many names on the bill, it's more of a full evening's music than a single set.
