Reindeer Meet & Greet

Cambridge Street Collective is hosting a Reindeer Meet & Greet on Tuesday 22 December, just a few days before Christmas. It's a drop-in session, so you can pop in and out when it suits you rather than sticking to a set start time. Two reindeer will be on-site, brought in by handlers dressed as Santa's elves, who'll be on hand to talk about the animals' daily care and habits. It's less of a performance and more of a chance to get up close and hear a bit about how they're looked after.

If you're going with the kids, there's a bit more to it than just watching. You can feed the reindeer their special treat, a Scandinavian lichen moss, which is a good way to get them to come closer. The handlers will be there to explain things as you go, so it works as much for the curious as it does for the little ones. It's a simple, low-key setup in the city centre, rather than a big production.

On the practical side, you'll need a ticket for every person coming along, and that includes both adults and children. There are no refunds, so it's worth sorting your numbers before you book. You'll find it at Cambridge Street Collective, 11 Backfields, Sheffield City Centre, S1 4HP.
