Live audiovisual sets by electronic music artists Plaid and Niknak at Hangr Warehouse.
Plaid and NikNak are playing Hangr Warehouse on Friday 23 October, both performing live AV sets. It's a double bill of electronic music where the visuals are as much a part of the performance as the sound.
Plaid are long-standing figures in electronic music, having worked under aliases like The Black Dog and Balil and collaborated with BjΓΆrk. Their eleventh album, Feorm Falorx, is the latest addition to a career that spans decades, and they describe it as high-tech-retro-futurism. The live AV format means you'll see the visuals running alongside the music, rather than just hearing the set.
NikNak is a turntablist and improviser who's built a reputation on the decks. Their debut album Bashi got plenty of critical attention, and their fourth record, Ireti, came out on Matthew Herbert's Accidental Records in 2024. That one didn't go unnoticed, with Mixmag and Bandcamp both naming it one of the best of the year. Like Plaid, NikNak will be playing a live AV set, so the night is built around two electronic acts pairing their sound with visuals.
