Free screening of 'The People's Emergency Briefing' followed by a community discussion on the climate and nature crisis.
Bents Green Methodist Church is hosting a screening of The People's Emergency Briefing on Thursday 3 December, from 7pm to 9pm. It's a free event, put on by Bents Green Eco-Church and local green campaigners, and the whole thing runs for about two hours.
The film itself pairs straightforward information about climate change with individual reactions and discussion. A group of leading UK experts give short explanations of their latest scientific findings on the climate and nature crisis, covering climate, food, health, economics, national security and extreme weather. It's designed to be accessible, with the experts breaking down the science rather than leaving it to the specialists.
Once the film finishes, the evening opens up to a community discussion, so you're not just watching and going home — there's a chance to talk through what you've seen with other people in the room. Between the screening and the conversation, the whole session takes around two hours, and it's free to attend.
