Party Bingo

Party Bingo comes to The OEC on Saturday 5 December, a festive afternoon that swaps the usual quiet bingo hall for a comedy host and a disco. The whole thing is fronted by the Grinch himself, who calls the numbers, cracks jokes and keeps the party rolling throughout the day. It's billed as a hilariously festive twist on the game, with the Grinch promising laughs, mischief and holiday chaos as he runs the show. You don't need to bring your own gear, either — bingo books and dabbers are provided on the day.

There's a bit more to it than just the bingo. The afternoon kicks off with a two-course lunch served at 12:30, so you're fed before the main event gets underway. From 14:00, the entertainment and the disco take over, with the bingo and the comedy running alongside the music. There are prizes up for grabs throughout the session, and the disco keeps things moving well into the afternoon. By 5pm, guests are heading home, making it a proper daytime outing rather than a late one.

The OEC is at Owlerton Sports Stadium on Penistone Road, S6 2DE, and they've built their Christmas season around this kind of thing. They position themselves as one of the city's premier Christmas party venues, specialising in fixed-price festive packages and a run of themed party nights. Among their main draws are fine dining, first-class entertainment and more than 400 free on-site parking spaces, which is a handy detail if you're driving in from across Sheffield. They also note that their Christmas events tend to start selling out in August, so it's worth getting your tickets sorted early.

Arrivals are from 12:00, with the two-course lunch served at 12:30 and the entertainment and disco running from 14:00. Tickets start from £35.00.
