80s Halloween ball with a two-course dinner, a live 80s act, a DJ and a late-night bar, with best costume prizes.
The OEC is hosting a Halloween 80s Party on Saturday 31 October, and it's more of a full evening than just a night out. They're billing it as an 80s Halloween Ball, so it's a double-theme: the decade and the date. It's recommended for ages 16 and over, and the whole thing runs from the evening through to the early hours.
It starts with a two-course dinner, so you've got the meal sorted before the music kicks in. From there, the night moves into a live 80s act, followed by a DJ to keep things going, and a late-night bar that stays open until 1am. There are also special prizes for the best costume, which gives you a reason to actually put the effort into the dress-up rather than just throwing on something half-hearted.

If you're planning to go, it's worth keeping the timing in mind. Doors open at 19:00, and since the dinner comes first, it's a long evening that carries on well past midnight. Tickets are £41.88 for those aged 16 and over, and they're sold through Eventbrite. The venue is The OEC on Penistone Road, Sheffield, S6 2DE.
