Orchard SCARE: Creative Writing Events and Pre-Halloween Party

Orchard SCARE takes over Orchard Square on Saturday 24 October, a day of spooky creative writing followed by a Pre-Halloween party at Sheffield Plate. It's a full day's affair, and it's over 18s only, so you'll want to keep that in mind if you're planning a group outing.

The first half of the day is all about the writing. There are three separate creative writing events running throughout the day, each with its own spooky theme, and they're hosted at The Writers Workshop within Orchard Square. You can drop in for one or stick around for all three, depending on how much you fancy spending the afternoon with a pen in your hand. It's a good way to get into the Halloween spirit before the night properly kicks off.

Once the writing wraps up, the mood shifts. The Pre-Halloween party moves over to Sheffield Plate, where the creative side of the day gives way to a party atmosphere. It's a natural progression from the afternoon's workshops: you spend the day writing something eerie, and then you spend the evening celebrating it with a drink in hand. The whole thing runs from the first writing session through to the party, so it's a long day if you decide to do the lot.

Entry is free, and the whole thing is over 18s only. The writing events are at The Writers Workshop in Orchard Square, and the party is at Sheffield Plate, both in Sheffield on Saturday 24 October.
