Free monthly open mic night at Utopia Theatre for singers, spoken word artists, poets, musicians, dancers, DJs and comedians, for ages 16 and over.
Open Mic Night runs every first Sunday of the month at Utopia Theatre, a free monthly platform for Sheffield's performers. It's one of those nights that works both ways: it's a space for upcoming and established creatives to share their work with a supportive audience, and a place for people to start a creative journey or build a following. The night welcomes performers of all skill levels and disciplines, with a particular aim to support those from groups underrepresented in the arts.
Because it's an open mic, the bill changes every time. It typically draws on singers, spoken word artists, poets, musicians, dancers, DJs and comedians, so you're likely to hear a few different things in one sitting. The night is often paired with an artist exhibition and artist spotlights, which adds a visual element to the mix. If you're thinking of performing and need specialist equipment, the venue asks that you get in touch beforehand.
