Monthly open mic night at the Chapeltown Tap micropub, hosted by Mark Thacker, with guitar, bass, microphones and PA provided.
Mark Thacker hosts another open mic night at Chapeltown Tap on Wednesday 28 October, starting at 7.30pm. It's a monthly fixture at the micropub, so if you missed the last one, this is the next chance to get involved.
The format is straightforward: Thacker runs the night, and the stage is open to whoever wants to play. It's an open mic in the truest sense, meaning you can turn up and perform without having to book a slot in advance. Whether you've got a few songs you've been working on or you're just starting out, it's a low-pressure way to get something in front of people.
One of the best things about this particular night is that you don't need to lug your own gear across town. The venue provides a guitar, a bass, microphones and a PA system on the night, so if you're a singer or a guitarist without your own kit, you can still have a turn. It takes a lot of the hassle out of playing a midweek slot.
